Highly speculative: If as expected, Russia and Mexico introduce new codes, it will change the correlation in the insulation market. However, we can not be sure.
COMMITMENT TO THE RETRO-FIT SECTOR
Construction of new buildings is in stagnation due to the effects of the global recession - especially in the United States and Spain. But if you are working in North American and European market, you can benefit from retrofitting insulation.
75% of today's EU buildings were built with no or minimal energy-related requirements.

SECTOR TO GROW: HIGH PERFORMANCE INSULATION MATERIALS
The leaders are the same: North America and Asia Pacific Excluding Japan (APEJ).
North America market grows on account of increasing need for advanced insulation materials for energy savings in several applications such as oil & gas, construction, automotive, and industrial among others.
APEJ grows on account of the low-cost structures, the real estate and industrial boom and growing demand for advanced insulation materials in various applications.
CRITICAL ISSUES
ENERGY COSTS
For insulation market, high energy costs are the moving factor but for manufacturing and feedstock prices it's a disaster - and vice versa.
POPULATION GROWTH, URBANISATION AND 'COMFORTINATION'
People expect greater levels of comfort indoors, regarding temperature moderation and indoor air quality.
Due to growing awareness over the health issues related to noise use of insulation materials increases in manufacturing plants.
